LABORATORY DEPARTMENT

1. GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Vietsovpetro Medical Center's Laboratory Department is a specialized department that uses the latest equipment and technology, and can perform emergency and routine tests for patients at Vietsovpetro Medical Center as well as any patient who needs a blood test.

The Laboratory Department operates and uses laboratory equipment and applies medical science knowledge in combination with preventive medical techniques to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the clinical block.

With the motto: "Fast - Accurate - Quality - Safe: From the stage of receiving - operating - analyzing specimens to returning test results" the Laboratory Department always strives to fulfill its mission based on a team of doctors and technicians with high professional competence and a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm.

2. MEDICAL LABORATORY SPECIALITIES PERFORMED AT THE MEDICAL CENTER INCLUDE:

Clinical biochemistry: Testing many substances in the blood helps diagnose: blood cholesterol status, liver function, kidney function, cardiovascular enzymes in case of myocardial infarction diagnosis.

Biochemical tests also quantify the medication the patient is taking to find the appropriate dose for the patient.

Immunology: TTH's immunology tests use the latest technology to analyze products produced by the body's immune response. These tests help diagnose viral infections (such as hepatitis B), cancer factors, and autoimmune diseases (such as autoimmune arthritis).

Hematology: This field does blood cell counts and imaging tests for abnormalities of blood cells: these are routine tests and help diagnose anemia or leukemia. We also do clotting tests to monitor patients taking anticoagulant medications.

Microbiology: Provides tests for: viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites that cause disease, then makes an antibiotic susceptibility test to provide the treating physician with the best antibiotic that can kill the disease-causing bacteria.

Pathology: Provides cytological diagnoses of lesions and tumors, helping clinicians diagnose diseases early and make the most effective treatment decisions for patients.

Molecular Biology: Molecular biology testing is also known as PCR (Molecular Chain Reaction). This department is located in a specialized area. It has modern equipment and technology to extract DNA/RNA as well as perform quantitative PCR techniques for some tests.

Automatic urine testing system: Cobas U411 Roche - Switzerland, Uri Screen 500 Dutch - Netherlands.

Biochemistry testing system: AU Beckman Coulter - USA, SK500 Sekisui - Japan

Conventional and fluorescence microscopes with camera.

System of centrifuges.

CO2 incubator system.

Deep freezers preserve clinical specimens.

4. ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE TESTING DEPARTMENT:

• Currently, the Laboratory Department of Vietsovpetro Medical Center has achieved level 3/5 of Decision 2429 - "Criteria for assessing the quality level of medical laboratories". This criterion is a tool for laboratories to assess compliance with current regulations on quality management and carry out activities to maintain and continuously improve laboratory quality.
• Since 2011, the Laboratory Department has been certified by the Center for Quality Control of Medical Testing, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, for participating in and achieving results of the annual external inspection program.
• Since 2010, the company has always achieved the title of "Excellent completion of tasks" awarded by the Vietsovpetro Joint Venture Trade Union.
