MISSION AND BELIEF

1. GENERAL INTRODUCTION

The Faculty of Marine Medicine is the only medical examination and treatment department of Vietsovpetro Marine Medicine Department in the early years of its establishment. In particular, Vietsovpetro Medical Center is one of the 6 largest island medical facilities according to the Government's Project 317. Therefore, the Faculty of Marine Medicine is focused on investment and appropriate development to effectively serve over 30 marine projects, including: Fixed drilling rigs - Self-elevating drilling rigs - FSO oil tankers; FPSO - crane ships and barges...

2. FUNCTIONS - TASKS:

  • Medical care consultation + Medical examination and treatment + Emergency on-site at marine projects. Medical examination, treatment and emergency for workers at sea and islands who are fishermen, crew members, and seafood catchers and exploiters.
  • Preventive medicine on offshore structures
  • Food safety and hygiene on marine constructions
  • Participate in shore medical work: Medical examination and treatment by specialty, emergency duty - patient transport...
  • Participate in teaching First Aid

3. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE - PERSONNEL

The most important issue for sea doctors is health and the ability to withstand wind and waves and the ability to "operate independently" - doing all the work of Doctor + Nurse + Caregiver alone.

Therefore, currently the Faculty of Marine Medicine has a total of 53 doctors working 21-day shifts on marine projects.
